How can organizations prepare effectively for a cyber crisis and preserve their ability to act in the face of the unexpected? This question was at the heart of discussions at the 10th edition of SecNumEco, to which Guillaume Chéreau, Director of Operations at Alcyconie, contributed during a panel discussion on crisis management.
On this occasion, Guillaume discussed the specific features of cyber-originated crises: uncertainty, speed of propagation, business continuity challenges and the need to make decisions under pressure.
Faced with these complex situations, several priorities stand out:
- Rapidly assess the situation;
- Mobilize the right stakeholders;
- Coordinate actions;
- Limit the impact on the organization’s operations.
But beyond the immediate response, it is advance preparation that is a decisive factor in facing a crisis.
As Guillaume Chéreau emphasized during his talk:
“In cyber crisis management, preparation makes the difference: clear processes, regularly tested programs and teams trained to respond.”
This conviction lies at the heart of Alcyconie’s approach: supporting organizations before, during and after a crisis by strengthening their preparedness, their collective reflexes and their ability to act in degraded environments.
