Phishing

Phishing is a technique used by malicious individuals to steal personal and/or banking information by posing as a trusted third party. This can take the form of a message, text message, phone call or email from a so-called family member, friend, government agency, internet, electricity or gas provider, etc. The aim is to steal personal and/or banking information. The aim is to steal private data such as IDs, passwords, bank details or other information in order to use it fraudulently.

As a preventive measure, we advise you to

  • Never send sensitive information by email or telephone,
  • Check the address of suspicious links by hovering over the link (the same applies to suspicious emails),
  • Use different strong passwords for each site,
  • Enable two-factor authentication if the site allows it,
  • If in doubt, contact the organisation concerned.
